About Us
The Waterford Utility Commission is established under Town Charter 4.1 with the powers and duties prescribed by Special Act No. 172 of 1963 and by Chapter 103 of Connecticut General Statutes.
The Commission is responsible for development of a long term plan to protect the ground and surface water from pollution. It implements the plan by designing, constructing and maintaining sewers or other alternative measures and by long term planning to ensure a safe and adequate water supply for the residents of Waterford. Its involvement in water supply and distribution includes designing, constructing and maintaining water mains, water booster pump stations, elevated water storage tanks and hydrants.
