State of Connecticut Mandated Revaluation



Revaluation is a state requirement which mandates this process be done every five years. 

Please look for upcoming revaluation notices in the mail in the coming weeks. 

Property values statewide, especially along the shoreline, have risen. 

Under Connecticut law, the assessment of each parcel of real property represents 70% of its fair market value as of the date of a revaluation. 

If you have questions about or wish to challenge your property’s new valuation, please carefully review these Important Dates so as to be able to exercise your rights under Connecticut law.


November 2022 - Notices of New Values Mailed 

December 1 – December 21, 2022 - Informal Hearings (Call Revaluation Company for Informal Hearing) 

January 2023 - Results of Informal Hearings Mailed 

February 1 – February 20, 2023 - Board of Assessment Appeals Application Period 

March 31, 2023 - Board of Assessment Appeals Decisions Mailed 

March 2023 – May 2023 - Town Budget Process 

May 2023 - Mill Rate Established by Board of Finance 

June 30, 2023 - Tax Bills Based on New Values and New Mill Rate Mailed 

July 1 – August 1, 2023 - Tax Bills Due and Payable
