Pursant to Executive Order No. 7MM, State of Connecticut
Waterford is looking forward to warmer weather and helping our restaurants and retailers take advantage of the great outdoors! The Governor’s recent Executive Order on outdoor dining and retail gives us all a clear path to help our businesses thrive. Our team is ready to answer questions and help owners get ready for outdoor activities to begin after May 20th. You can download the application form here.

Supporting our businesses during the COVID19 emergency

Waterford stands with its businesses during these difficult times. Our community is driven by our dedicated entrepreneurs and the Town recognizes the extraordinary pressures our businesses face during this pandemic. The resources below have been compiled to assist our small businesses in responding to this crisis. Owners with questions about help available to them can also reach out to our partners at Southeastern CT Enterprise Region (SeCTer).

 

DECD (The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development) maintains a webpage with COVID 19  information and tools for CT businesses .
The SBA (https://www.sba.gov/U.S. Small Business Administration) posts resources for businesses in need of loans or other support related to Federal COVID19 programs.  The SBA has updated its PPP (Paycheck Protection Program Loans).
The Connecticut Small Business Development Center maintains a list of COVID19 resources for small businesses.

Women and Minority Businesses

The Hartford Economic Development Corporation (HEDCO) has partnered with the State of Connecticut, the CT Department of Economic & Community Development (DECD) and the CT Minority Business Initiative to provide financial relief to minority-owned and women-owned small businesses negatively impacted by the coronavirus pandemic. Spanish Speaking Business Owners

The Town of Waterford is happy to announce a partnership with the City of New London that will allow our Spanish speaking business owners a 'Help Line' to navigate available relief programs. Please call 860-437-6309 or email [email protected] to make an appointment. Now is the time where partnerships are vital in getting information to all of our small business/ non-profit owners. We are all in this together.
