Waterford Inland Wetlands & Watercourses Map - This map is compiled from the USDA, Soil Conservation Service Soil Survey of New London County and is for general information purposes only. It does not represent field delineations of inland wetlands and watercourses. The map cannot be used for permit applications.
The precise location of inland wetlands and watercourses shall be determined by the actual character of the land and soils on a given property. Determining the location and boundary of inland wetlands and watercourses on a property requires the expertise of a duly qualified soil scientist or wetland scientist.
Wetlands: soil types designated as poorly drained, very poorly drained, alluvial or floodplain soils.
Watercourses: include rivers, streams, brooks, waterways, lakes, ponds, marshes swamps, bogs and all other bodies of water, natural or artificial, public or private, vernal, intermittent or perennial.
