Frequently Asked Questions

When you've searched our catalog and you don't find what you are looking for, let us try and get it for you from another library. Through our Interlibrary Loan Service (ILL), we can request materials from other libraries in the State of Connecticut.

This service is available to Waterford residents and non-resident customers with valid library cards. All ILL items must be picked up and returned at the Waterford Public Library.

There is no fee for this service.

Please allow an average of ten business days for items to arrive. We will contact you when the item arrives.

Mostly books. Please note, some materials are not available through ILL, such as entertainment DVDs and reference materials. It is also very difficult to obtain best sellers and other books published within the last 12 months.

Customers may have up to five ILL requests in our system at one time.

The usual loan period for an ILL item is three weeks.
