The Waterford Utility Commission is partnering with Veolia to replace 30-year-old plastic water connectors to homes with copper connections. This will prepare Shore Road for milling and paving over the summer months, without having to worry about the plastic connectors leaking and newly paved road having to be dug up, due to leaks. This long range fiscally responsible paving standard will benefit homeowners and motorists for decades to come. Once the connectors are replaced on Shore Road, the team will move to Niantic River Road to replace water connectors there. The goal is to have the southern half of NRR milling and paving completed by the end of summer. Please be patient as you are waiting for the work crews to complete work and seek alternate routes if possible. Using Lamphere Road will be a better option to get to Great Neck from Jordan Bridge. Goshen Road to Great Neck is the best way to avoid Shore Road.
