The Opioid Epidemic: history, causes and how we can end it

Monday evening, September 11th at 7:00 p.m., Dr. Michael R. Saxe of Middlesex Hospital will speak at the library.  We will also be joined by Waterford Police Chief Brett Mahoney.

This epidemic is one of our major health problems and it has caused the deaths of over 200,000 Americans: rich, poor, white, black, urban, and rural. Every shoreline town in Connecticut has lost residents from opioid overdoses in recent years.

Our speaker will be Dr. Michael R. Saxe who has practiced Emergency Medicine in Connecticut for 32 years. He is currently Chairman Emeritus of the Emergency Department at Middlesex Hospital.
