A Message to Waterford Residents and Visitors
The map (click here or see bottom of the page) represents the host community assignments for all Waterford residents and visitors in the event of an emergency at Millstone Power Station.
The host community is East Hartford. The Town of Wethersfield will provide shelter capacity to support evacuees reporting to East Hartford. The pre-designated evacuation routes would be taken if public protective actions, involving an evacuation, are directed by the Governor.
Primary Evacuation Route
- Take Rt. I-95 South to Rt. 9 North, to Rt. I-91 North, to Exit 25-26 (Rt. 3 North). Take Exit 25, cross over the Putnam Bridge, to Rt. 2 West, to Exit 5A (Main St., East Hartford). Take a Right at light onto Brewer St. to intersection with Forbes St. Take a Left on Forbes St. to East Hartford High School.
Alternate Evacuation Route
- Take Rt. 85 North to Rt. 82 West, to Rt. 11 North, to Rt. 2 West, to Exit 5A (Main St., East Hartford). Take a Right at light onto Brewer St. to intersection with Forbes St. Take a Left onto Forbes St. to East Hartford High School.
